Bead embroidery kit for a spooky-cute Halloween pair on faux leather, to clip onto a backpack, handbag or keys. The round black bat has pink-beaded ears, little white fangs, beaded wing ribs and dangling cord legs. Beside it hangs a glossy orange jack-o’-lantern whose cut-out face is filled with black beads. Wonderland Crafts FLBB-199 comes with the bat, wings and pumpkin cut to shape and the holes already punched, so every bead goes into a fixed place. There is no fabric, no hoop and nothing to frame.

Project notes
The pumpkin’s eyes, nose and grin are cut right through the orange faux leather. A black layer sits underneath and is filled in with black beads, so the face looks carved and glowing at the same time. Orange beads trace the outline and the ribs. On the bat, pink beads fill the ears, grey bead lines mark the wing bones, and the fangs are small white faux leather pieces. You bead each part on the front, then join it to its back around the edge with a little batting inside. The bat’s body and the pumpkin come out soft and rounded, and the knotted legs swing below.

This charm is made for October: clip it on a school backpack, a trick-or-treat bag or a work tote for the season.
